WHAT IS YOGA?
WHAT IS MEDITATION?
Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which
originated in ancient India.
Yoga focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental
wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements
designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing.
Meditation can be defined as a set of techniques that are intended to encourage a
heightened state of awareness and focused attention. Meditation is also a
consciousness-changing technique that has been shown to have a wide number of
benefits on psychological well-being.
WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core
strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing.
Pilates has something to offer people of all ages and levels of ability and fitness, from
beginners to elite athletes.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Water, comfortable clothes and you can either bring your own mat or we provide mats in our studio, which are sanitized between classes.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear comfortable clothes, ideally layers so that you can stay warm at the end of the class. Just make sure you can move easily.
CAN I EAT BEFORE CLASS?
Though exercise is best done on an empty stomach, you should try to eat something light an hour or two before doing a yoga class.
This will keep your energy levels up and your blood sugar levels on an even keel.
WHERE I CAN CHANGE CLOTHING?
WHAT IF I'M RUNNING LATE?
We have a changing room with cubicles and storage for your belongings which will be locked before class begins.
We ask everyone to arrive 10-15 minutes before class to sign in at reception and get settled on your mat before class. Doors will be closed 5 minutes before class begins.
I'M NEW TO YOGA, WHERE SHOULD I START?
All of The Tribe Hub classes are open to all levels. You don't need to be flexible either! If you want to have a more energetic practise then dynamic yoga is for you. If you want something slower & more restorative, however, then try our Yin classes.
